We take safety seriously.
- We use bus companies that have a proven safety record and are well known in the community.
- We ensure our Canadian trips are supervised 24 hours a day by providing night supervision using a private security firm (optional for US trips).
- Our Tour Leaders are trained to be safety conscious at all times and learn how to deal with a variety of emergency situations during their intensive training program.
- The phone numbers for the hotel and our toll-free number are provided prior to the trip departure.
- While on tour there is a 24HR emergency hotline should parents need to contact their children in the event of a crisis.
Travel Guard Platinum Insurance
The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) strongly recommends that every passenger purchase travel insurance prior to departure as protection against unforeseen and costly events.

- Trip Cancellation due to the School Board’s decision to cancel the tour for any reason* including the Board’s determination that there is a risk to students that are travelling

Coverage/Reimbursement:
If you must cancel your trip due to a covered risk under the Platinum Package (please refer to the policy) you will be reimbursed for 100% of the non-refundable pre-paid costs. *Cancel for Any Reason applies only to the School Board’s decision to cancel the trip for any reason, it does not apply to individuals. If the School Board cancels the tour for any reason you will be reimbursed 75% of the non-refundable pre-paid costs.
Standard Cancellation Penalties will apply if you do not purchase the insurance. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions on the back of the Parent Letter.

TUI Student Travel provides our groups with $25 million in liability insurance – more than any other educational travel company!
We are a fully accredited travel provider with the Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA). This elite accreditation status is awarded annually to travel companies who meet strict criteria for financial stability, insurance, safety, integrity, and service.
We are also a member of the Ontario Motor Coach Association and the Travel Industry Council of Ontario. Membership in these associations attests to the financial integrity of our organization, and gives you added assurance that your money is secure and the operation of your tour is guaranteed.
